The Kentuckiana Golf Course Superintendents Association exists to promote the interests of its members, both individually and collectively; to advance the sciences related to the occupation of golf course maintenance and related fields of grounds maintenance; to unite those persons engaged in the construction, reconstruction, development, improvement and maintenance of turf grasses, grounds beautification and landscaping in Kentucky and surrounding areas into a cooperative group for the collection of scientific and practical knowledge and information on problems and methods of turf management and grounds maintenance of every kind; to promote the interchange of ideas among our members, and to publish and distribute to our members information from periodicals and bulletins. |

KGCSA was founded in 1948 under the name Kentuckiana Greenkeepers Association Inc., the first Board of Directors were Joy Oller, Gilmore B. Grant and Geo. P. Russell. The name was changed in 1952 to it's current name Kentuckiana Golf Course Superintendents Association, Inc..
